Vinyasa Flow & AcroYoga

Course Details

VinYasa allows students to calm their minds, build strength, find flexibility and cultivate appreciation.  AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage and the dynamic power of acrobatics to create a practice cultivating trust, connection and playfulness.  YinYoga takes students deep into their poses and relaxation, complimenting their more active practice and allowing time for reflection.  Students feel challenged, inspired and connected by the completion of the VinYasa & AcroYoga program.
Kristen Atkinson, Proyecto Montezuma’s Lead Yoga Instructor
A native Canadian, Kristen found her way to Costa Rica through yoga.  After earning her 200 hour RYT Certification in 2005, she began teaching yoga in schools in Costa Rica and California.  Her love for nature shines through in her yoga practice while Costa Rica provides the perfect setting for outdoor classes and demonstrations.  She infuses laughter and fun into her classes and encourages her students to explore their practice with curiosity and gratitude.

What to Expect

Maybe one  of the most beautiful beaches in the world, unique with breathtaking waterfalls, rivers, crystal blue sea, white sea, coral reef…, Montezuma is the ideal yoga setting. The natural calmness and beauty helps you ease and relax out of stress and normal-day life into the world of inner peace and tranquility. Mixing your yoga classes with nature allows you to easily breathe, stretch and find your inner strength. Kristen’s teaching mixes the needed ingredients: VinYasa and AcroYoga while Mother Nature provides the setting. In Montezuma, it is h-o-t, expect to dehydrate as your classes lead you into detoxing and internal cleansing. Therefore, it is imperative that you drink enormous amounts of water prior to starting classes and during your entire program session. Expect to challenge your inner self and improve your physical strength; expect to challenge your mental ability and exceed your personal goals; expect to fall in love with your new-found confidence and poise.

What to Bring

Stretchy, comfortable tops and pants (the tighter the better!) should be worn during classes. No shoes. Mats and props are provided for studio and natural setting classes. You are certainly welcome to bring your personal yoga gear if desired.

Be sure to drink lots of water!
